Sarsaparilla

Although many claim Sarsaparilla is similar to Root Beer, it has a unique flavor profile that makes it its own.  In the US it is often associated with the Southwest.
Its name comes from the Spanish word zarzaparrilla, the name for a vine native to Mexico and Central America that is often used as the basis for the soft drink sarsaparilla.
